Eric Ardery (Champ Flight) Dale Casey (A Flight) Richard Pfister (B Flight) Harold Booker (C Flight)
Raleigh, NC (March 26, 2009) - Durham's Eric Ardery, playing in the Championship Flight of the Harris Teeter Senior Golf Tour, posted an even par 72 in wet conditions at River Ridge Golf Club for a 2-shot win over Milt deReyna of Hope Mills and Mitch Whitley of Zebulon Thursday. Ardery birdied 3 of his final six holes on the 6,274 yard course to finish strong and notch the win.
The A Flight, which played from 5,769 yards, was topped by Zebulon's Dale Casey with a 3-over 75. Bob Rudolph and Jack Blankenhorn, both of Raleigh, finished a single stroke back.
Pittsboro's Richard Pfister took top honors in the B Flight with an 85. Once again two Tour members shared 2nd and 3rd place as Raleigh's Darrell Hagwood and Pinehurst's Tom Kubla each turned in 87s.
Raleigh's Harold Booker, who has played in over 80 events "on-Tour" turned in his lowest C Flight career score with an 82 to win the C Flight competition. Ordinarily that would be a runaway score for the flight, but Greensboro's Mark Campanella also chose Thursday to post his best ever number in Tour action with an 83 to take second. Raleigh's Arnold Ewing rounded out the top 3 with an 85.
"We'll have our eye on both Harold and Mark's Tour Handicap rating as we go on", stated Tour Director Bruce Hallenbeck. "Both of those scores indicate that on a good day they can compete at the B Flight level. I just want to make sure that this wasn't a once-in-a-lifetime occurance. That's why we keep Tour Handicaps on every member".
