LOW SCORES DOMINATE SR. TOUR FLIGHTS AT BRYAN PARK

Greensboro, NC (September 23, 2010) - When a golf course holds a USGA national event, as Bryan Park Champions Course did earlier this summer when it hosted the 85th annual Public Links Championship, you know it's got to be a stern test of golfing ability. And while granted, those competitors played from a lot longer tees than the Senior Amateur Golf Tour members did today, nevertheless some very impressive numbers were posted by the flight winners of all 4 flights contested.
Everyone of the winners bettered their previous low score on-Tour this season, and of the 4 flights, 3 of them needed to go that low in order to secure their victory.
Mike Allison of Durham Knocked in 4 birdie putts enroute to an even par 72 in the A Flight. Even with that score, he barely escaped with the win as Winston-Salem's Mark Robinson and Laurinburg's James McMillan were only one back at 73.
Charlotte's Joe Burgess fired a 77 for a 2-shot win over a trio of Greensboro golfers in the B Flight - Vic Robertson, Dan Whalen, and Travis Jones. Burgess had 3 birdies of his own on the day. Jim Pritchett's best-of-the-season score of 81 nipped Lenoir's Tim Story by 2. The Winston-Salem resident also finished 3 shots clear of Advance's Charles Johnson and James Eatmon of Sims.
The only flight winner who wasn't pressed was Cary's James Dill who captured the Championship Flight with an impressive 68 that included 7 birdies. It was Dill's first sub-70 round on-Tour.
