The Virginia Senior Amateur Tour returned to Providence Club for the Clayton Homes Classic, where five flights produced five very different paths to the winner's circle.

Jon Coullier captured the Championship Flight with a 77, carding three birdies on his way to the title.

The round of the day belonged to Ron Sullins. Sullins fired a 70 to win A Flight, and he needed every shot of it. Freddie Lee finished just one back at 71 while leading the field with five birdies.

Steve High made the biggest statement of the day in B Flight. His 71 opened an eight-shot gap over Joe Young and Ralph Perkins, who tied for second at 79.

Then things tightened up. Rolf Granger posted an 85 to win C Flight by a single shot over Larry Maitland and Audie Murphy, while Warren Dalton did the same in D Flight, shooting 88 to hold off Laurens Platteel and Eric High by one.

There were highlights throughout the field as well. Lee's five birdies were the most of the tournament, while David Sigers recorded the day's only eagle.

Congratulations to Jon Coullier, Ron Sullins, Steve High, Rolf Granger and Warren Dalton on earning the hardware at Providence.

Sullins delivered the lowest round of the day, High authored the biggest margin of victory, and Granger and Dalton each survived one-shot battles to claim their flights.
