Then the next tour stop on Monday August 5th will take us to Lake Norman and the beautiful Peninsula CC. Like River Run the Peninsula put in Champion Bermuda greens last year so expect spectacular putting surfaces.

Champ Flight:

Bill Phillips win for the second time this season with a 73 Wednesday at Northstone.  Phillips was chased hard all day by Brad Kroll but Kroll ended up in second with 74.  Gary bell continues to improve and finished in third with 76 and Gary Schatz was fourth on the card over Mike Gentry.  Both Schatz and Gentry fired 77’s.

A Flight:

Chris Cross won for the first time ever and used his home course knowledge to fire the low round of the day a 2 under par 70.  Larry Culler played in Cross’ group and battled him all day but just came up a bit short with a second place finish at 73.  Ted Cox, John Allessio tied at 76’s with Cox taking third place on the card playoff.

B Flight:

Bill Maryman had one of his best rounds ever on tour a blister 75 Wednesday to win the flight.  Rich Dutcher and Ron Ballew both finished at 78 but Dutcher got him on the card playoff.  After the scores were posted both Ballew and Dutcher now head to A flight as their indexes dropped below 9.0.  Steve Williams cashed in 4th place money with 80.

C Flight:

Darrell Wilson beat out Bill Sturgeon in the playoff for first place money; both men fired rounds of 85.  Sindo Mayor finished only one shot back at 86 for third place and Bob Talbot was 4th with a 90.
