Ted Cox aces the par 3 12th hole for his ninth career hole-in-one!

The next stop on tour is this Wednesday September 21st at River Hills CC 10am shotgun start. River Hills replaces Pine Island in our rotation due to green arrification on six of there greens that got hit with round up by accident.  I Spoke with the Head Pro today and River Hills has come back great since there arrification so it will be in great shape next Wednesday.

Please email me back (Yes or No) and I’ll get you entered.  Weather is getting great now and the courses are in great shape coming into our fall finish.

Practice rounds are this Saturday & Sunday after 1pm and next Tuesday all day for only $35.

Note the course has tourneys this Thursday & Friday so no practice rounds on these dates which is why they gave us the weekend times.

Then the following week 9/8 (Wednesday) We play Rock Barn (Jones) course which always fill up so also email me back (Yes or No) on this one please!  This is the Champions Tour course if you have never played here don’t miss it.

Practice rounds are 50 but not until after River Hills event.

Championship Flight:

Mike Matheny wins for the second time this season by shooting a great 2 under par round of 70 at Firethorn on Wednesday.  After the front nine Matheny was tied with John Walters at 34 but when Walters bogied 10 and 11 the momentum shifted to Matheny and he never relinquished it.  Walters did finish second with an even par round of 72.  Gary Schatz and Ted Cox both fired 74’s and Schatz won 3rd place money on the card.  Cox however had the shot of the day ace he aced the par 3 12th hole for his ninth hole-in-one.

A Flight:

Tim Romeo played steady all day and finished in first place with 74.  Alan Skelton continues to improve his play as he finished in second place with 78 beating out Len McAlister on the card playoff.  George Shadwick also won on the card beating out Bill Greiner for 4th place money.  Both players fired a pair of 79’s.

B Flight:

Joe Burgess won for the first time all season as he posted an 81 for the victory.  Steve Williams finished second with 83 and Bill Shenoha beat out Stu Timko on the card for third place money.  Shenoha and Timku both shot 85’s.

C Flight:

Van Storie won for the second time this season with an impressive round of 82.  Bill LoVine finished four shots back but did grab second place money with 86.  Jerry Hoogeveen tripled his last hole but still managed a third place cash over Don Elsass who finished 4th.  Both players fired 89’s on Wednesday.

Note: Ted Cox records his ninth hole in one at the par 3 12th hole at Firethorn CC.  Cox flew a six iron from 169 straight into the cup!
