Championship Flight:
Jeff Brischke wins for the first time ever on the Senior Tour and did so in very impressive fashion. Brischke made the turn at 3 under 33 but was one shot back to Ken Powers who turned in four under par. Ted Cox also turned low at 2 under and would have been four if not for a double at the 9th. Brischke went to 5 under birding the 10th and then finished the day at 68. Ken Powers birdied the 18th to also post 68 but lost to Brischke on the card playoff. Ted Cox ended up in third with 70 and Brad Kroll had 71 for 4th place. All four of the top players finished under par Tuesday as the Raintree South’s perfect conditions offered up many birdies.
A Flight:
Not to be outdone by Champ Flight this flight also had very low scores and many birdies on the day. Larry Cowman had four birdies en route to his first victory this season a 2 under par 70. Cowman needed the great round as he only won by one shot over Richard Boone who fired 71. Boones round was highlighted by an eagle 2 from the fairway on number 10. Robert Smith cashed for the first time this year by shooting 73 and Jeff Hughes rounded out the top four with 77.
B Flight:
Steve Williams also tasted victory for the first time in 2011 as he won by one shot posting a smooth 78. Bobby Poteat maybe had a tough time finding the 10th hole Tuesday as he ended back up at the clubhouse, but once he got going he fired an impressive 79 good for 2nd place money. Louis Hinson, Lloyd Morris & Jack Long all tied at 82 and Hinson got third and Morris 4th on the card playoff.
C Flight:
Michael Hinson kept the form winning for the first time all season with an impressive 82. Dick Hood finished in second with 83, Van Storie was third at 84 and Jerry Hoogeveen’s 85 was 4th place.
