Championship Flight:
John Walters started fast birding two of the first three holes and with birdie at nine turned at 34. Then Walters birdied the par five 12th hole and shot 35 on the back for a strong 3 under par 69 victory. Mark Wagner finished in second place with and even par round of 72. David Watterworth was giving chase to Wagner but a triple bogie on 18 derailed him as he fired 75. Bill Hall also shot 75 and won third place money over Watterworth on the card.
A Flight:
Len McAlister has been playing on the tour for years and Wednesday had a few firsts in his career. McAlister fired his first ever under par score with a smooth 70 much of this coming from his other first ever a string of five birdies in a row. Len Birdied 5, 6,7,8,9 to clinch his victory by two shots. Tom Carbone also shot his lowest score ever on tour an even par 72 good enough for second place money. Marty James was right behind in third with 73 and David Poteat beat out John Pluckhahn and Billy Poteat on the card for 4th place. All three players fired 78’s.
B Flight:
Rick Horsman and Jack Long both played there best rounds of the season shooting 79. Horsman beat out Long on the card for first place and his first victory. With Long finishing second it was Joe Moore beating out Chet Brileya on the card for third place. Both Moore & Brileya fired 82’s.
C Flight:
Don Elsass grabbed his first victory of the season with 85 beating out Phil Schroeder by only one. Schroeder got second with 86 followed by Dick Hood with 87 and Gary Graham “finally won a card playoff for 4th spot. Both Graham and Sindo Mayor shots 88’s.
