Championship Flight:

Well the wind blew as hard as anyone could remember in one of our tournaments but that did not stop John Walters from posting a great score.  Walters birdied the first hole and never looked back as his five birdie day added up to a one under par 71 first place victory.  Congrats again John on golfing your ball under very windy conditions.  Jeff Brischke started the day four over par after 7 holes but then got his wind game in gear and finished in second place with a four over par round of 76.  Newcomer Bill Williams and Tommy Lee both posted 77’s but it was Williams beating out Lee on the card playoff for third place money.

A Flight:

Tim Romeo is always in the hunt but Monday Tim broke through for the first time on tour with a one shot victory at 77.  Right behind Romeo was Len McAlister and Jeff Shartzer at 78 and it was McAlister beating out Shartzer on the card for second place.  Three players fired 79’s Monday with Bill Barnett, beating out Bill Beal and Bill Greiner.

B Flight:

Sam Carpenter also proved to be a good wind player as he won by a single shot on Monday at TPC Piper Glen.  Carpenter posted an 82 for the victory beating out Marty James by one shot at 83.  Bruce Mullis & Tom Minor both finished 2 shots back at 84, with Mullis beating out Minor on the playoff for third place.

C Flight:

Jim Wittersheim has been playing on tour for several years now and Monday captured his first victory ever on tour.  Wittersheim and Sindo Mayor both were tied at the end of regulation with 87’s but it was Wittersheim beating out Mayor on the card for first place.  Jerry Hoogeveen, Don Elsass and Phil Schroeder all tied with 90’s; Hoogevenn got third and Elsass fourth on the card playoff.
