Well the 2011 season kicked off on time this year as 75 degrees ruled the day.  Wind also was a strong factor as putting the slick greens at Cedarwood became quite a challenge on Monday.  Jim Hunsuck seemed to figure out the wind as he posted the first victory of the season by firing a nice 73 on Monday.  Brad Kroll and David Watterworth finished only one shot back at 74, but it was Kroll grabbing second from Watterworth on the card.  Rounding out the top four was John Walters cashing with 75.

A Flight:

James Brannen won by two shots at Cedarwood by posting a fine 77 on Wednesday.  Tim Romeo finished in second spot with 79, thus being the only two players who broke 80 in the flight.  Alan Skelton and Bob Boettner stood tied at 82, but it was Skelton grabbing third place on the card playoff.

B Flight:

Frank Czaniecki goes back to back at Cedarwood winning last November and again as we kick off the 2011 season.  Frank was the only player to break 80 in the flight and his 79 was four clear of the nearest competitor.  Newcomer Bruce Mullis held up well in the blustery conditions finishing in second place with 83.  Another new tour member Jack Long grabbed third spot alone with 84.  Tour Vet Mike Hinson beat out Bob James on the card for 4th place money.  Both Hinson and James fired 86’s.

C Flight:

Last years points Champ Done Elsass and John Crofts ended up tied at 89.  Going to the number one handicap hole to break the ties Crofts got the victory over Elsass on the card.  91 was a popular number in C Flight Monday as three players posted at this score.  Steve Gough back on tour after a couple year hiatus grabbed third over Don Boyd and Gary Graham.
