Tee Boxes Cowans Ford CC: Champ & A Flight: White Tees 6400 B & C Flight: Gold Tees 6100 Championship Flight: David Watterworth was “Mr. Par” yesterday making 16 of them against only 2 bogies at CC of Salisbury. David said it wasn’t because he did not have chances just nothing went in. However Watterworth still managed to hold off Mr. CC of Salisbury Robert Surratt who had won the previous 4 tournaments here. Surratt finished in second one shot back at 75. Ted Cox, Jerry Sennett, John Walters and Jim Beaver all tied at 76 but it was Cox getting third and Sennett 4th on the card playoff. Walters holds a 300 point lead over Cox going into the final 2 tournaments of the year. A Flight: David Frye has been getting from instruction from his son Chad lately and it seems to be paying off. David won for the first time this season on the Charlotte tour posting the second best round of the day a 75. His round did include 2 chip-in birdies; but his ball striking which is greatly improved added more to his win. Finishing right behind Frye in second was Rick Taylor with 76. David Harrison and Cecil Lockley both ties with 78’s but Harrison nipped Lockley on the card for third place money. B Flight: Don Russell won for the second time this season and beat out his good friend Jack Sommers to due so. Russell finished in first place with 81 while Sommers captured second with 83. James Herndon notched third spot with 84 while Jim taylor grabbed 4th place with 85. C Flight: Larry Hinson won for the third time this season with a one shot victory at 87. Still winless on the year Jerry Hoogeveen still keeps knocking but misses again by one shot to finish in second with 88. Bill Stugeon, Van Storie and Don Elsass all finished tied with 91’s.
