Charlotte, NC: Three players win for the first time Monday at the Palisades. Thanks to Sean Branagan and the crew at the Palisades for the excellent playing conditions yesterday. As we all know this summer has produced some very stressed greens but the Palisades were perfect on Monday. All the players were very pleased with the new addition to the schedule, we will definitely be back next season. Please note the web page is (www.senioramateurgolftour.net) if you have the old (www.harristeetersrtour.com) as your favorites please change as this does not work any more. You will be sent to a business site. The tours next stop will be this Monday at The Club at Irish Creek. Still a few spots left. Practice rounds for Irish are (Tuesday-Thursday) only. Price $40. Tee Boxes Irish Creek: Champ & A Flight: Back Tees (Blue) 6489 B & C Flight: Middle Tees 5867 moved to 6100 yards Please note there are "No Personal Coolers Allowed on your carts". I would apprecaite this being followed not only here but for the rest of the tourney's this season. We are at a level of golf courses that we all want to maintain and this rule now needs to be stated and abided by. Thanks Dennis Championship Flight: Charles Knight won for the first time all season with the help of five birdies on his card. Knight turned in one under par 35 and then got it to 2 under par with a birdie at the 16th. He stumbled a bit coming in but still shot a one over par 73 good enough for a 2 shot victory. Mark Federal grabbed second place money with 75 while Jeff Raush nipped out Robert Smith on the card for third place. A Flight: Jim Buchanan also won for the first time this season, but had to do so in sudden-death. After 18 holes both Buchanan and Cletis Dozier were tied at 77. As is the rule on the senior tour we go to the scorecard to determine the winner and Buchanan won on the card playoff. Jerry York posted his best round yet on the senior tour finishing just one shot back with 78 and third place money. Ted Friel and Bill Barnett tied with 81’s but it was Friel beating out Barnett for 4th place. B Flight: Chet Brileya won for the second time this season but did so by only a single shot. Chet posted a smooth 79 to be the only player in the B flight to break 80 on the day. Right on Chet’s heals were Dave Courtright and Mike Hinson who both fired 80’s on Monday. Courtright did beat out Hinson on the card for second place money. Rounding out the top four spots was Lloyd Morris over Howard Rohrer on the card playoff. Morris made a 6 and Rohrer a 7. Both players shot 81’s. C Flight: Bill Sturgeon became the third player of the day to win for the first time on tour. Sturgeon played his best round of the year as he won by threes shots with 83. Gary Graham grabbed second place with 86 and a host of players were right behind him at 87. Jerry Hoogeveen grabbed third while Anthony Bruno beat out Don Elsass on the card for 4th. Note on the 2010 Senior Tour Championship go ahead and Pre Register if you’re interested in playing in Pinehurst. I have been getting a lot of questions about finishing in the top 15 which actually turns out to be about the top 20. We want 60 players from Charlotte to compete for individual titles as well as the team cup which we are defending. Some of the top 15 will elect not to play in Pinehurst so then I’ll take as many players below (in order) of finish until we get 15 per flight. Also we expect over 300 players this year and course selections will be determined on each flight size. So pre-registering would be greatly appreciated.
