Champ & A flight Blue Tees (6406 yards) B & C White Tees (6150 yards) Play all Whites except the par 5’s play the Blues Championship Flight: John Fowler won for the first time this season by firing a very impressive 72 at Firethorn today. Craig Sturdivant had the lead at one under par after 13 but bogies on 14 & 15 left him in second place at 73. Bill Hall comes in third place playing for only the second time all season due to back trouble. Bill fought through the pain and shot 74 good enough for 3rd place money. JB Burton made only one birdie on the day but kept the big numbers away and cash in 4th place with 75. A Flight: Tommy Lee blistered Firethorn on Wednesday with a one over par 73 which will promote him to Champ Flight for the rest of the season. Congrat’s Tommy on your continued great play. Larry Culler has also stepped up his game dramatically this season and will also join Lee moving up to the Championship flight with an impressive 75 today. Jim Buchanan grabbed third with 77 and Cletis Dozier got 4th with 78. B Flight: Joe Burgess broke through for his first win on tour this year. Joe was tied after 18 holes with Sam Carpenter with both players shooting 78’s. On the card playoff after five holes Burgess beat out Carpenter for first place. James Herndon grabbed third with 79 while Max Mast got back in the money with a smooth 81. C Flight: Bill Lovine’ fired a career tour best 83 to win first place Wednesday. Don Elsass got second with 86 and Jimmy Taylor at 88 and Jerry Hoogeveen’ at 89 rounded out the top four spots. A special congrats to newcomer William Elmore who got a rare egale on the par 5 17th hole. As we know C flight eagles are very rare.
