Jerry Sennett aces the 16th; but Rausch birdies the 18th hole to a 69 for the one shot victory!

Champ & A flight Black Tees (6406 yards) B & C Gold Tees (6150 yards) These holes play Black Tees (#4, #6, #9, #11, #16, #17) Championship Flight: Jeff Rausch played solid all day on his home track but when Jerry Sennett aced the 16th both players stood at 2 under par with 2 holes to play. Both players made 4 on the par four 17th but it was Rausch birding the 18th hole to nip Sennett by one shot. Rausch took home first place money with a 3under par 69, while Sennett captured 2nd with 2 under 70. Ken Powers fired an even par 72 to grab third while John Walters fired a 73 for 4th place and still holding the season long point’s lead. A Flight: Larry Culler took over the A Flight points lead and also took home the victory Monday with a stellar even par 72. Culler remains in A flight with a 4.1 handicap index but could be moving soon as his game continues to improve this summer. Bill Maryman who played 9 years in B flight until his recent promotion to A Flight cashed for the first time beating out a host of other 77’s for second place. The other 77’s were Tom Carbone finishing 3rd; Greg Johnson 4th and Terry Lewis 5th. B Flight: Chet Brileya broke through for his first even win on tour. Chet fired a career best 75 to win by two shots. Ray Smith played well and had the lead until Brileya’s card was posted but Ray still got second place money with 77. James Herndon and Don Russell both fired a pair of 78’s but Herndon nipped Russell on the card for 3rd place. Tom Holmes fired a 79 just keeping him out of the money but his score did drop his tour handicap to 8.1 thus a promotion to A Flight. Good luck to Tom and congrat’s on your continued improved play. C Flight: Larry Hinson won for the first time this season leading a host of low C flight scores on Monday. Hinson fired his best round 82 for his victory while point’s leader Don Elsass was one shot back at 83. Three players fired 84’s with Mac Geddie finishing 3rd on the card and Matt Papes 4th. Harry Gekas finished 5th also shooting 84.
