River Hills CC is located just after the Buster Boy Bridge on Lake Wylie, SC. Practice rounds are available for $30 all weekdays’. Champ & A will play the Silver Tees B & C flight will play the Blue Tees Pro Shop number (803) 831-2249 for exact directions. Championship Flight: John Walters had and up and down day on Wednesday but in the end his 5 birdies made him the winner at Catawba Springs (Lake Hickory CC). John birdied 3 holes on the front nine and two more on the back to finish the day at 74. The win also gave John the points lead over Ted Cox. Ken Powers continues to cash about each week on tour and finished in second place with 75. Ted Cox was third with 76 while Brad Krolls 77 gave him 4th place. A Flight: Larry Culler and Len McAlister finished the day tied with 78’s however it was Culler beating out McAlister on the card for the victory. Thanks to Larry Culler for getting us on this great track last year, which all the players find enjoyable to play. Bob Boettner captured third with 79 and Marty James new shoes help him grab 4th place at 80. B Flight: Sam Carpenter won for the first time this season and did so in fine fashion. Sam won by 4 shots on Wednesday shooting a smooth 80 for the victory. Ray Smith continues to get his game in shape and grabbed second place with 84. Dick Kolk and Jim Taylor both tied at 86’s, but it was Kolk edging out Taylor on the card for 3rd place. C Flight: William Looper put his best round of the year together and won by five shots on Wednesday firing an 84. After his new round was entered his handicap dropped below 13 so William will now be promoted to the B flight for River Hills. Congrats William on your improved play. Don Elsass was the only other player in the flight to break 90 with 89 and 2nd place money. Newcomers Jerry Hoogeveen and Larry Griffin both finished 3rd and 4th respectively with 91 and 92.
