Championship Flight: Tom Cone edged out Ted Cox for the win on Wednesday at Salisbury. Cox made the turn at even par and had a 2 shot lead over Cone. Cox unfortunately made double at the 10th hole and with birdies at 13, 15 & 18 Cone fired a 33 on the back nine to win by two. Bill Thaxton 2 time National Champion finished at 73 good enough for third place and Robert Surratt finished in fourth with 75. A Flight: Terry Lewis shot a brilliant round of 73 on Wednesday and received a promotion to the Championship flight for the remainder of the 2009 season. Way to go Terry congrats on your continued improved. Steve Romito fired a 77 good enough for second spot While Toby Tyler and David Frye tied at 79. Tyler wound up in third place and Frye fourth on the scorecard playoff. B Flight: Bill Maryman shot the same score as he did at Birkdale to loose by one shot, today his 80 was good for a one shot victory over Sam Carpenter who finished in second place. Robert Winfrey got into the mix on Wednesday and finished in third place with 82. Darrell Wilson cashed in fourth spot beating out Hal Miller and Jim Dickinson on the card for 4th spot. C Flight: Don Boyd captured his first victory of the 2009 season by carding a smooth 87 on Wednesday. Then came the log jam at 90; Van Storie, Gary Graham and Tony Schiffer all went to the card to decide the playoff. Van Storie finished in second, Gary Graham finished in third and Tony Schiffer fourth. On a side note Gary Graham is O For in scorecard playoffs so at least today he did beat Schiffer on the card for third. With 2 events left Graham is looking for one victory on the card!
