The 2009 Harris Teeter Senior Tour season got off to s strong start with 109 players competing on Tuesday. Thanks to all the staff at Cedarwood CC and the club members for letting this become an official tour stop for many years to come. Championship Flight: (Blue Tees 6425yds.) Congratulations to new tour member Butch Mielke who fired an even par 71 on Tuesday. Butches round included a 2 under par 34 on the front side. Ted Cox just missed a playoff with Bruce finishing one shot back at 72. A 74 by Richard Krapfel took third place while last years season point’s winner Brad Kroll won a scorecard playoff for 4th with 76. A Flight: (Blue Tees 6425 yds.) Alan Skelton beat three other players by one shot firing an 81. Terry Lewis, Terry Scronce and Ted Friel all finished with 82’s. Lewis got second on the card and Scronce third place. B Flight: (White Tees 6124yds.) Graham Pitt & Frank Czaniecki finished tied for first place with 81’s. Graham nipped Frank on the scorecard playoff to grab the B Flight victory. Frank a member at Cedarwood and new member to the tour, can’t wait for the next event at Cowan’s Ford to get his first victory. Finishing only one shot back a pair of 82’s from Terry McClure & Bill Maryman continued the close scoring in every flight yesterday. It was McClure beating out Maryman for the 3rd place finish. C Flight: (White Tees - 6124) With only one group left out on the course Steve Sutherland and Dwight Miller were tied with 88’s, but after the final scores were posted Dennis Buck won his first ever senior event by one shot at 87. Sutherland captures second on the card and newcomer Gary Graham grabbed 4th place with a 91. All the flights were very competitive and looks like each flight will have different winners each week.
