Tuesday August 21st.

73 Golfers Teed it up at the recently renovated  Mooresville GC in Mooresville, NC.  The course was in great shape and the play showed for most.

In the  Championship Flight, new member and local member, Jimmy Popp shoots a 2 under par round of 70 to claim a 3 shot victory.  Casey Alexander (73,+1) beats out George Harris to win the scorecard playoff with a better back nine tiebreaker score.  Fourth went to Central Carolina member Dan Anthony who shot (80, +8) and rounding out the top 5 was Rob Fulford (91, +9) who beat out yours truly in the scorecard playoff.

In the A Flight, Jeff Hughes shoots an impressive round of 4 over par score of 76 to win by two shots over Billy Poteat (78,+6).  John Jarrell (80,+8) who almost quit due to the heat after the front nine, was able to cool down a bit at the turn and then got hot (literally) by shooting a great back nine of 2 over par 38 to claim third. Fourth and Fifth places had to be decided by the scorecard playoff. In the end it was Travis Wartluft (81, +9) taking fourth and Randall Gaston taking fifth.

In the B Flight, Jim Brand takes home his second win in a row shooting a +6 round of 78 on the day to win by 2 shots over 4 golfers who all tied at +8, 80.  When reviewing the scorecards to settle the ties, Rick Fliss takes home second.  Sly Stevens takes home third.  Randall Garver takes home fourth, Jimmy Chapman take home fifth.

In the C Flight, Our C Flight Points leader wins again.  Kevin Lepage who waited patiently in the scoring area after shooting a 8 over par round of 80 on Tuesday afternoon.  When Kevin had finished he was actually in 3rd or 4th place as a few golfers had 2-3 holes remaining.   The last few holes at Mooresville can be pretty challenging and the results proved that to be very true.  As the dust settled, Kevin wins by 1 over Andre Banks (81, +9) who takes second and Sindo Mayor (81, +9) takes third.  Dan Keddie (83, +11) takes fourth  and Jimmy Sullivan (83, +11) takes fifth.
