We finally got a break with the heat wave in September and it was greatly appreciated. The course as always was in great shape and proved to be a challenge as we know it would. The tight fairways always tend to give the players concern and the scores certainly reflected it.
In the Championship Flight, Brian Swensen claims victory as well as claiming the 2019 Champ Flight Title with the win. Brian's round of 72 was 3 better than Casey Alexander and Dan Anthony, both players shooting 75. Casey takes second after beating Dan on the scorecard playoff. Ted Cox claims 4th place after finishing with 77 (+5) and Bruce Gantt claims fifth with a round of 78 (+6).
In the A Flight, Phil Seamen shoots 75 (+3) to win by 2. Kenny Treece claims second with a round of 77 (+5). Wayne Kinley 78 (+6) wins a scorecard playoff over Bob Olsen 78 (+6) to claim third. Rounding out the top 5 was David Isaacs with a round of 81 (+9).
In the B Flight, Fresh of his promotion from C Flight last week, Chuck Snider goes back to back, this time winning in B Flight shooting 81 (+9). Second place goes to Jack Beach shooting 82 (+10). With his second place finish, Jack will claim the B Flight Championship for 2019. Third place went to Joe Cannatti with a round of 84 (+12), Bob Deaton who was leading early in the round, claims fourth with a round of 85 (+13). Fifth place goes to Rondal Gibson with a round of 87 (+15) beating out Roger Clark and Jimmy Sullivan on a scorecard playoff.
In the C Flight, David Cline claims a 1 shot victory with a round of 87 (+15). Patrick Warren, visiting us from the Central Carolina Tour, takes home second with a score of 88 (+16). Sindo Mayor takes home 3rd with a score of 89 (+17). Doug Raby claims fourth witha score of 90 (+18) and Joel Johnson rounds out the top 5 with a score of 91 (+19).
Our Final event on the Charlotte Schedule for 2019 is less than 2 weeks away on TUESDAY, October 1st at Pine Island Country Club. The Flight Champions will; be crowned on this day.
