Charlotte Final 2 day event was contested over Monroe CC on the 10th and 11th of September.  A lot of close battles were seen over the final 18 holes.

In the Championship Flight, Scott Patnode closed with a 3 under par round of 69 to finish the 2 days at 2 under par 142. This makes back to back victories for Scott as he won the last event at Ballantyne CC.  Mike Gentry had it going early and was 5 under at one point in the round.  Overall Mike had 6 birdies and an Eagle on the day to move into second place with rounds of 75-69 to shoot Even par over the 2 days.  Overnight leader Brian Swenson finishes third shooting 71-74-145 (+1).  Casey Alexander takes 4th with consistent rounds of 74-74-148 (+4) and Rounding out the top 5 was Ken Powers who shot 72-77-149 (+5).

In the A Flight, 36 holes could not decide a winner.  Scott Ide and Phil VanGeersdaelen both finshed at 8 over par after 36 holes.   An on course playoff ensued which did not take too long.  Both players appeared to have hit their tee shots Out of Bounds and were forced to play provisional balls.  Scott found his ball just inside the fence and was able to advance his tee shot back to the rough where he hit his 3rd shot just over the green. Needing to get up and down, Scott's 4th shot rolled past the hole by some 12 feet.  Phil had chipped up to about 3 feet awaiting to see if he could force the playoff to continue.  Scott rolled in the bogie putt for the victory.  Scott's win shows why you should never give up.  Scott was +8 after his first 8 holes on Tuesday but was able to steady the ship and shoot even par over his final 28 holes to force the playoff.  Third place was settle by the scorecard playoff as Tim Woodward and Nate Clements both shot 77-77-154 (+10).  Tim takes home 3rd and Nate settles for 4th.  5th place went to Johnny Moffett who shot 77-80-157 (+13).

In the B Flight, Kelly Straub claims victory and his ticket to the National Championship next month.  Kelly's rounds of 79-77-156(+12) was 3 shots better than Allston Moore who had rounds of 80-79-159(+15).  Third place goes to overnight leader Ron Gburek who shot 77-83-160 (+16).  Fourth goes to Rondal Gibson 86-78-164 (+20). Fifth goes to Steve Williams 84-80-164 (+20).  Rondal wins the playoff over Steve Williams and Russell McDonald by shooting the better second day score.

In the C Flight, Chuck Snider claims Victory and his ticket to the Tour Championship next month.  Chucks steady rounds of 83-82-165 (+21) was good for a 1 shot victory over Andre Banks 84-82-166 (+22).
