What a difference a few days make. After getting rained out on Saturday for the Golfweek event at Lancaster, The Senior Tour went back to the Lancaster Golf to try again. The course was in excellent shape and the play reflected it.
In the Championship Flight, Brian Swenson goes back to back after his win at Firethorne. Shooting a under par round of 71 was good for a 5 shot victory and the largest margin of victory on the day for any of the flights. Bruce Gant shot 76 (+4) to finish in solo second. Steve French and Dan Anthony tied at 79 (+7) but it was French who won the scorecard playoff. Ken Powers rounded out the top 5 shooting 80.
In the A Flight, Phil VanGeersdaelen wins for the second time in 2019. Phil's round of 76 (+4) was one better than Dave Aussicker who shot 77 (+5). Third place went to the scorecard playoff as two players tied at 78. In the end, Johnny Moffett takes third and Steve Sovde takes home 4th. Phil Seaman shoot 79 (+7) to take 5th place.
In the B Flight, Dave Ezell claims victory with a score of 77 (+5). Stephen Roberts wins a scorecard playoff over Sly Stevens as both players shoot 79 (+7) on the day. Allston Moore claims 4th place shooting 80 (+8) and Joseph Delmaster claims the last paying position shooting 81 (+9)
In the C Flight, Randall Garver and Lee Touchton both shot 81(+9) to tie for first place. After going to the scorecards, Randall claims the victory. Chuck Snider shoots 82 (+10) to claim third place honors. Doug Raby claims fourth with a score of 84 (+12) and William Gillette claims the fifth and final spot with a score of 85 beating out David Cline in a scorecard playoff.
ALSO..... ANOTHER HOLE IN ONE..... Bryan Hough (A Flight) aces the par 3, 4th hole. With the ACE Bryan claimed the CTP, One of the Flight Skins and one of the Super Skins on the day for a total of $276. Well Done Bryan.
Our next event takes us back north of Charlotte to the Lake Norman area for our Southern Open. This is a 2-day event that will take place at the Peninsula Club on Monday August 5th and will conclude at Northstone Club on Tuesday August 6th. WE expect to sell out at 100 players so please do not wait to register and pay for the event and get left out.
