The last event of the regular season was on a perfect day
and perfect conditions at River Run CC.
Before we get to the results I wanted to say thanks to everyone for all
your support of the tour this season and to congratulate the flight points
winner for 2017.
Jeff Brischke wins the Champ flight points narrowly over
Jerry Sennett. Gary Bell wins the “A”
Flight and Steve Williams wins the “B” flight points championship. The closest of all the flights saw Guy
Woodlief win “C” flight by only 50 points over John Leak. Congrats to all four flight winners as they
will receive a crystal engraved plate along with $100 gift card and their name inscribed
on our Senior AM Charlotte history points winners plagues.
Champ Flight:
Jeff Brischke wins by one shot and with 76 and also seals
the overall point’s championship. Mark
Hodges was solo second aided by his birdie on the 18th with 77
followed by Larry Griffin at 78 and last week’s winner Fred Bruce at 79.
A Flight:
Phil VanGeersdaelen wins for the first time on the senior
tour tying the low round of the day at 76.
Darryl Averyhart finishes second at 79 followed by Mark Gregory with 80. Gary Bell, Richard Boone and Scott Ide tied
fourth at 83 with Bell grabbing the gift card on the playoff.
B Flight:
Roosevelt Blackwell also wins for the first time by only one shot with 83. Herb White, Ron Gburek and Steve Williams all finished tied at 84 and White finished second and Gburek was third on the card playoff.
C Flight:
Rondal Gibson wins for the first time with 84 followed by Van Storie at 88. Bill Holland and Chuck Snider tied at 89 with Holland grabbing third on the card.
