John Bribiescas, Gabe Garcia, Matt McMahon, and Jeff Jones all won The Senior Western Summer Regional at Talking Stick Golf Club.
The 2025 Senior Amateur Tour Regional Schedule continued at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ on July 19th and 20th. Members representing 3 Local Tours were ready to get the competition going.
Championship Flight – John Bribiescas (Arizona) delivered two of his finest rounds of the year, ultimately securing his first Regional win at Talking Stick Resort. After achieving seven birdies, including four consecutive ones, in the First Round, Bribiescas continued his strong performance with three additional birdies in the Second Round. He finished the event with a remarkable score of 66-72-138, resulting in a double-digit victory.
A Flight – Gabe Garcia (Arizona Tour Director) achieved his third victory of the year and secured his first Regional victory at the Western Summer Regional. After establishing a four-shot lead on Day One with a commendable round of 74, Garcia maintained his composure with a consistent round of 78, culminating in a two-day total of 152 and a two-shot victory. Brian Eastman (Arizona) began Day Two eight shots behind but ended up delivering the lowest round in the A Flight for the weekend with an impressive score of 72, ultimately finishing in solo second place with a total of 154.
B Flight, three players started Day Two, each within three strokes of the lead. Day One leader Matt McMahon (Arizona) maintained his momentum, following his initial score of 77 with an impressive round of 79, culminating in a two-day total of 156, ultimately securing victory in the Western Summer Regional by a margin of seven strokes. Hop Cassidy (Arizona) recorded rounds of 80-83-163, earning a tie for second place with John Allen (Arizona) who carded 78-85-163.
D Flight - Jeff Jones (Arizona) secured the victory, further solidifying his impressive performance in the 2025 season of the Senior Amateur Tour. He posted a score of 96 on Day 2, improving his Day One performance by four strokes. This win marks Jone’s third triumph of the year and represents his inaugural Regional/Major Championship title on the Tour.
