Stan Adams, James Becknell, Mike Wallace, James Thompson, and Tom Howell all won The Senior Master Regional at Cutter Creek Golf Club.
The 2025 Senior Amateur Tour Regional Schedule continued at Cutter Creek Golf Club on April 15th and 16th, with its fifth tournament of the Tour-wide Regional Series, The Senior Masters Regional. Members representing 8 local tours from across the country traveled to Snow Hill, NC to play Cutter Creek Golf Club. Competition among the sell-out field of 104 participants did not disappoint and each of the five flight winners earned an Invitation to the 2025 Senior National Championship this October!
In the Championship Flight, Stan Adams (ENC) showcased remarkable consistency, securing the title with a score of 72-71-143. Jerry Cunningham (ENC) finished in second place with a pair of 74s for a total of 148. John Fryman (Columbus, OH) claimed third place with a total score of 153.
In the A Flight, following two days of competitive play in windy conditions, a four-way playoff emerged, all tied with a total score of 159. James Becknell (ENC) secured victory by birdieing the first playoff hole. Scott Ide (Director Charlotte, NC), finished in second place, while Brian Hollandsworth (ENC) took third. Ken Gray (ENC) rounded out the top four. In fifth place, Stuart Williams (Southern Virginia) recorded a two-day total of 160, winning a scorecard playoff against sixth-place finisher Tracy Floyd (ENC).
In the B Flight, one of Eastern North Carolina Tour newest members, Mike Wallace distinguished himself by shooting a two-day total of 164, thereby securing the title of Flight Champion. Gil Ro (Central Carolina) closely followed with a score of 167, earning second place. Both Brien Cozart and Hal Moore, representing Eastern North Carolina, recorded scores of 168; however, Cozart triumphed in the scorecard playoff against Moore.
In the C Flight, James Thompson (ENC) achieved victory by two strokes, carding scores of 80-84-164. Trevor Horne (ENC) secured second place with a scorecard of 80-84-164. Mike Groom (Central Carolina) narrowly defeated Carnell Luckett (ENC) in a scorecard playoff, as both players recorded scores of 169.
In the D Flight, Tom Howell (ENC) secured victory by narrowly defeating Donnie Pierce (ENC) and James Moore Jr. (ENC) by a single stroke. Howell recorded a scores of 89-95-184. Both Pierce and Moore finished with a score of 185, with Pierce ultimately claiming second place following a scorecard playoff against Moore. Sherrill Johnson (ENC) rounded out the top four with a score of 186.
