2019 - Salisbury CC
We had 78 players
turnout for Salisbury with four of those players visiting from other tours. The
weather held out for the event but thunderstorms did roll in after everyone
completed their rounds.
In the Championship
Flight, it was a dog fight most of the day between Tim Smith and
Jeff Brischke. Both players shot under Par. Tim won with a stress free
2-under 69, while Jeff shot 1 under 70. Rounding out the top five, Steve French
3rd, Dan Anthony 4th and Mike Gentry5th.
The competition in A
Flight was as exciting as Champ. Two players took the course by the horns and
battled back and forth all day. Phil Seaman shot a 1-under 70 to take the win.
Scott Ide shooting a 1-over 72 took second. Billy Cauthen takes 3rd on the
score card tie breaker shooting 77. Tom Carbone takes 4th also with a 77. Tim
Woodward, 5th with a 78.
B Flight continues the
trend of the day with players shooting solid scores. Rob Geilhausen fires a 73
to take top honors. Bob Boettner finishes second with a very respectable 77.
Rounding out the top had to be determined on the score card. Kelly Straub 3rd,
Blair Hall and Rick Fliss 5th, all shoot 78.
C flight had the
tightest competition with 7 players vying for a top 5 finish and all within 2
shots of each other. Coming up just short in their quest, Tom Johnson and Dan
Keddie lost in the score card playoff to Doug Raby finishing 5th with a 85.
Sindo Mayor and Bill Holland both posted 84 and again went to the score card
for the next two spots. Mayor finishes 3rd and Holland 4th. To determine the
winner, we again go to a scorecard playoff. Rondal Gibson and Kevin LePage both
shoot 83, with Gibson taking the win.
In my attempt to make
Phil look well organized, I left the gift cards at home. Phil have the cards
available at the next event you play. The "Rookie" again apologizes.
The next event on the
schedule is Peninsula CC (June 26th). The course is in great condition and a
must play this year.

play too much golf. Two rounds a day are plenty."
