Charlotte wins the 2009 National Team Cup!

Harris Teeter Senior Am Tour Starts Tuesday Feb. 10 at Cedarwood! The First tournament of the season will be “Tuesday Feb 10th” a 10am shotgun start at Cedarwood CC. A special thanks to Don Laney & Frank Czaniecki to adding this great course to our 2009 schedule. If you have not already signed up, please email me back (Yes or No) along with your name if you plan to play at Cedarwood CC. We have had a lot of new members join in the off season so please email me a response back ASAP so you’re not put on a waiting list. Practice rounds will be available for all participants (Tuesday-Thursday Only) just next week for $35. Just call the pro shop and tell them you’re playing in the Harris Teeter Senior Tour event. Skins game: $5 optional bet for the skins pot: (Champ & A) Flight will have a skins pot and play from the Blue tees. (B & C) Flights will have another skins pot and play from the White. Look forward to seeing all of you out at Cedarwood on Feb 10th. Charlotte is the tour’s flagship division, and this year’s Charlotte schedule features 24 tournaments, beginning Feb. 10 at Cedarwood CC in Charlotte and ending November 04 at Cowan’s Ford CC. Last season was Charlotte’s biggest year yet with over 200 players competing through out the tour schedule. Many events sold out early with the average field being 100 players. Don’t delay sign up now to play like the pros do. Other top-notch venues include: Club at Irish Creek, Rock Barn (Jones), Pine Lake, Piper Glen, Carolina Lakes, River Run, Edgewater, River Hills, Raintree, CC of Salisbury, Pine Island and NorthStone. All tournaments are on weekdays and begin at 10 a.m. The tour is open to seniors with handicaps from 0-25, with participants placed in flights according to handicaps. Competition is stroke play, using full USGA rules. The top four finishers in each flight at every tourney win gift certificates from Edwin Watts Golf locations in Charlotte, while all earn points toward a championship in their flight. Those who finish in the top 15 in points in their flight receive invitations to the 2009 Harris Teeter Senior Amateur Tour Championship in Pinehurst. Tour membership fee is $70 and includes a tour gift pack, plus reduced rates on weekly practice rounds. Entry fees are $60-$85 per event, and include cart and green fees, range balls and prizes. Golfers who are 50 years or older may join the tour at any time during the year. For info, call Dennis McCormac at (704) 844-8264, or email at (dmac@amateurgolftour.net).
