Our 5th official event comes to us from the Greg Norman Designed layout at Elks Run GC in Batavia, OH.
Mother Nature showed up yet again, as rain came barreling through the tri state early morning up till the tournament. It softened up the course which brought out some close, hard fought victories for our players.
The A flight saw Bob Holz and Joe DiGiorgio fire rounds of 84 leading to a sudden death playoff, where Holz was able to come out on top, capturing win number two for the season so far. John Harvey was two shots back of the playoff in 3rd with an 86. Ken Sloan rounded out the scoring with an 87.
The B flight also saw a sudden death playoff between David Lutey and Mark Tyler after both fired fine rounds of 80. Lutey was able to come out victorious and claim his first win of the year. Assistant Director, Brian Lane was 3rd with an 83. Donald Ratliff and Mark Black rounded out the scoring.
Th C flight saw David Hall hold off Ron Mollenkopf by one shot, 83 to 84, capturing his second win of the season. Todd Courtney was three back in 3rd with an 86, while Curt Grant and Jose Taule rounded out the scoring for the day.

The D flight saw a first time winner….Just kidding! Assistant Director, Stan Ley fired an impressive 86 to capture his 3rd win out of four events so far this season. I smell a promotion coming at this rate. Jerry Flick was 2nd with a 92 while the Kentucky Tours, Joe Hollis was 3rd with a 94. Scott Goodhart rounded out the scoring for the day.
We want to thank everyone for their patience with this unusual weather this year. We know it can be a huge annoyance, but you all find away to make everything a success.
We also want to thank the staff at Elks Run for all their assistance to make things run as smooth as possible.
We’re currently trying to secure a venue prior to the next scheduled event at Shaker Run on June 25, 2023. Be on the lookout for updates in that regard.
