Championship Flight:
Richard Matheny made three birdies on the front nine and two more on the back to finish with his third victory of the 2011 season. Matheny fired 37-37 for a 2 over par 74 and a one shot victory over two other players. Ted Cox shot 74 but made a great comeback on the back nine shooting 40-35 and nipped Bill Hall on the card for second. Hall might have been hosting the first place crown had he not hit from the wrong tee box on the 17th hole his final of the day. Hall made double bogey to finish third with 75. Jeff Wrona cashed for the first time in a while with 77 and fourth place.
A Flight:
Bob Boettner shot the low round of the day on the front nine making four birdies en route to a 2 under par 34. The back nine however grabbed Boettner with 43 but he was still able to squeak out a 2 shot victory. Tim Romeo held on to his points lead and finished in second place with 79. Richard Boone cashed in third with 82 while Bill Barnett grabbed 4th at 83 beat McAlister on the card playoff. A flight now comes down to Romeo and McAlister Wednesday at Northstone CC.
B Flight:
Sam carpenter beat out Bruce Hallenbeck on the card playoff for first place money. Both players fired 84’s but it was Carpenter making double that surprised him that he won as Hallenbeck tripled the same hole. Chet Brileya finishes third with 85 and right behind him at 86 Jack Long grabs fourth.
C Flight:
Mark Roden wins for the second time and only by one shot with 88. Larry Hinson took second with 89 and also closed the gab on Don Elsass for the point’s race winner. Hinson now is only 215 points behind Elsass going into the final event at Northstone. Dennis McConaughay and John Crofts both fired 90’s but Dennis beat out John on the card for third.
