Larry Griffin, Mark Gregory, Steve Williams & John Leak all win the Players Championship!
The Players Championship is now in the books and four players punch their ticket to Hilton Head in October. I’m happy to report the Island had no damage to any courses from Irma we are open 100% and everything will be great for this years Senior National Championship. Championship Flight:
Larry Griffin wins his first ever major in a playoff. Griffin lead after day one as the only player to shoot under par with 71 then followed it up with a nine hole rain shortened round of 38. Whit Fairer shot 72-37 to tie Griffin but lost on the scorecard playoff and received second place money. Mark Hodges was solo third and Jeff Brischke rounded out the top four.
A Flight:
Mark Gregory, Tom Carbone and Gary Bell all tied for first but on the card it was Mark Gregory grabbing the trophy and the first place win. Jeff Hughes rounded out the fourth place spot.
B Flight:
Steve Williams wins by two shots to grab first place money and the Players title. Herbert White finished in solo second while Ron Gburek was third and Tom Ostrowski was fourth.
C Flight:
John Leak led wire to wire and wound up winning by one shot and grabbing first place money. Jim Wittersheim & Elmer Shelley tied for second as Wittersheim won on the card playoff. Dan Keddie ended up in fourth place.
The Senior Tours last two stop takes us to River Hills CC on Lake Wylie 9-20 then to River Run CC in Davidson on Monday 10-2. Please email me back (Yes or No) on both of these tournaments.

Practice rounds for River Hills will be weekdays only for $30 for all registered players.
